Welcome to the natural site of the Pâtures Wetland between Val-de-Reuil and Le Vaudreuil for an unusual experience. Admire the area’s ecological diversity and recharge your batteries on a lovely walk with family, friends or loved ones.

50 hectares of wetlands
A 10-hectare walking area
A unique reservoir of biodiversity
Seine-Eure

An ambitious ecological project

of the Seine-Eure conurbation

Awakening ecological awareness.

By developing and restoring degraded natural environments, the Seine-Eure conurbation is doing its utmost to ensure that future generations can fully enjoy the nature that surrounds them. By raising everyone’s ecological awareness, the aim is first and foremost to regenerate natural environments that are home to an exceptional heritage: wetlands, wild watercourses, alluvial woodlands, chalky hillsides…

Take to the trail and footbridges through woods and ponds for a stroll as close as possible to this complex environment where animal and plant species interact and cohabit.

Accessible from the Chaussée du Vexin car park in Le Vaudreuil, this green setting is a transition zone between the terrestrial and aquatic environments. It represents a unique but threatened reservoir of biodiversity that plays an important role in the natural regulation of water and its purification.

Biodiversity

to protect

Accessible to walkers all year round, a 900-metre-long pathway of raised footbridges allows visitors to stroll through nature, relax, escape and observe the species that inhabit the Pâtures Wetland (rare plants and birds, fish, insects, mammals, amphibians characteristic of this environment…)

Take a real breath of pure oxygen in the heart of three thousand trees of local species: ash, willow, oak, birch, black poplar…Observation points and information panels along the educational trail invite visitors to better understand the issues involved in preserving this fragile ecosystem.

A full booklet is available free of charge from the Seine-Eure Tourist Office in Louviers.

This natural area is dotted with lakes and wet meadows, enriched by two ponds and an arm of the Eure designed to facilitate the upstream migration of migratory fish, as well as kayaks and canoes. During the walk, discover the permanent forest pond and the educational pond, true refuges of terrestrial and aquatic biodiversity. These observation and learning zones change with the seasons. In spring, you can watch the arrival of amphibians, the metamorphosis of dragonflies, the egg-laying of frogs and the birth of tadpoles, the return of newts… In autumn, the trees are decked out in magnificent colours. If you’re a nature lover or a keen photographer, consider taking a trip at dawn or dusk to silently spot the species that are waking up and those that are about to go to sleep.

Let yourself be enchanted
by the magic of these places in every season!
