Located at the confluence of the Eure and Iton rivers, the park—originally designed in the French style in the 18th century—has been transformed into a 16-hectare Romantic park with particular attention paid toon integrating water and vegetation. These elements are integrated into a romantic landscape and contribute to the poetic atmosphere of the place. Water is omnipresent, with ponds into which the roots of century-old trees plunge. A winding river and a system of canals that divert water from the Iton River thus create a natural setting for the castle and its gardens. You’ll be captivated by the monumental waterfalls, cascades, rocky paths, bridges, and canals, with water murmuring all around—all the way to the exceptional vegetable garden and orchard, home to large espaliered pear trees. You’ll appreciate the impressive shapes of the Louisiana cypresses, plane trees, pagoda trees, purple beech trees, and sequoias… Guided tours at 11 a.m., 3 p.m., and 4:30 p.m.
