Discover the Bailliage of Pont-de-l’Arche

PONT-DE-L’ARCHE

Guided Tours

Successively court, prison, town hall, artist’s studio and umbrella factory, the Bailliage has a history spanning several centuries.
After 15 months’ work by the Seine-Eure Urban Community to restore the walls, roofs and window frames, the bailiwick will be open to the public as part of the Pierres en Lumière festival.
Jails, graffiti, the prison courtyard… For one hour, visitors will discover the hidden treasures of this building dating back to the 17th century.

Free – booking required.

Please wear flat, closed-toe shoes.
Partial pushchair access (ground floor and courtyard).
No toilets on site.

Between Shows and Lights

in Gaillon

Juliet & Romeo:

Come and discover a modern version of William Shakespeare’s mythical love story of Romeo and Juliet, rewritten and adapted for young audiences.
Set to music by Sergei Prokofiev, talented students from the Conservatoire will take you on an artistic journey through five magnificently performed musical tableaux, accompanied by choreography projected onto a large screen. You’ll be transported by the pictorial art, films, music, dance and drama that bring this timeless masterpiece to life in an immersive, captivating and original experience.

Gaillon: Between castle and town

In the glow of sumptuous illuminations, the Château de Gaillon reveals itself in a whole new light. With its strolls, games, entertainment and musical tours, this evening is an invitation to marvel. The château will be delighted to host the Contrast concert, a performance organised by the Seine-Eure Conurbation’s artistic education network.

Free of charge – Please note: the major renovation work currently underway means that access to the entire site cannot be guaranteed. Access for people with reduced mobility is partial.

Gaillon: Between Town and Castle

Rendezvous at the Place de l’Eglise, where the Décorchemont stained glass window will be showcased. Free or guided tours of the church for an evening by candlelight. Concert at 7pm, tour of the church, games and entertainment – games for children of all ages. At 9:15pm: candle lighting. Catering available in the local shops.

Irish music and illuminations

Pinterville Castle

Pinterville Castle lights up to the sounds of Irish music! The Irish team JIGUELINGS bring traditional Irish tunes to life with energy and sensitivity. Carried by the instruments of 4 passionate musicians, the melodies draw the audience into the musical atmosphere of the pubs of Dublin or Connemara. After the show, enjoy a friendly drink with the musicians.

Admission is free. A hat will be passed around to thank the artists.

Lights on the church

PINTERVILLE

Come and visit Pinterville church from 6.30pm to 8pm (no registration required), followed by a free walk to Pinterville castle for those wishing to take part in the on-site activities, via a safe pedestrian route. The church will be illuminated until 11pm.

Hellenvilliers en Lumières

Le Mesnil-Jourdain

On Saturday 30 May, from 10pm, plunge into the mysterious darkness of the 15th and 16th century church in Le Mesnil-Jourdain. Take part in an exceptional guided tour: discover its history, its architecture and the stories of the famous monks who have lived there. As the tour progresses, the lights will gradually come on, guiding you towards the illuminated gardens of the Manoir d’Hellenvilliers, where the history of the site will be recounted in a magical atmosphere.

Sonnets and resonances under the star

Le Val-d’Hazey

As night falls, a luminous procession will guide visitors to the Bethlehem chapel. As the evening progresses, sonnets will bring to life the men who have marked the history of the site, a poetic sequence punctuated by musical moments.

Notre-Dame en Lumière

Le Vaudreuil

Notre Dame church will be illuminated from 29 May to 31 May. On Saturday 30 May, enjoy a piano and trumpet concert by the Zéphiros duo, followed by a torchlight procession along the banks of the Eure. You’ll arrive at Carré Saint Cyr for a night-time visit to the temporary exhibition Savoir-faire rares & pièces d’exception.

Concert & lights in the church

Andé

For its 10th participation in Pierres en Lumière, the Notre Dame d’Andé association is organising a concert in the church: the Ailly choir will delight you with a varied repertoire of songs (pop rock, classical, etc.). Visitors are invited to place lights around the building.

Church of Sainte-Cécile

ACQUIGNY

The Association of Friends of the Church of Sainte-Cécile in Acquigny is exhibiting examples of liturgical vestments and exceptional reliquary cases (relics of Sainte Cécile, Saint Gaud, Saints Mauxe and Vénérand, etc.). The Friends of Sainte Cécile Church will be on hand to welcome you and show you around the newly restored church.

The Tors Bell Tower lights up

Saint-Aubin-sur-Gaillon

The twisted bell tower of Saint Aubin church will be the centre of attention. Illuminations, music and other surprises will highlight this exceptional heritage. Catering on site.
