Why not step back in time for a weekend? On 6 and 7 June 2026, the town of Gaillon will be hosting the 3rd Historiques de Gaillon – Rendez-Vous aux Jardins, a festive event combining heritage, gardens, shows and a Renaissance atmosphere, just 1 hour from Paris.

A weekend of gardens, heritage and shows in Normandy

For two days, as part of the Rendez-vous aux Jardins event, Gaillon will be immersed in the atmosphere of the Renaissance, with historic encampments, theatre, music, fire shows, a Renaissance ball, craftsmen, lectures, creative workshops and activities for all the family.

In the streets, gardens and other areas set aside for the occasion, visitors will be able to meet emblematic figures from the castle’s history such as Cardinal Georges d’Amboise, Louis XII and Anne de Bretagne, as well as discovering a major figure in the art of gardens this year: the famous Italian master gardener Pacello da Mercogliano, this year’s guest of honour.

An ideal family outing near Paris

With treasure hunts, live performances, medieval encampments and participatory events, the Historiques de Gaillon offers an immersion experience accessible to all, in a friendly and spectacular atmosphere.

On Saturday evening, a festive evening of theatre, music, feasting and fireworks.
On Sunday, a costume parade will take you through the streets of Gaillon to the upper gardens of the castle.
