In 2023, choose Seine-Eure: more relaxation, more nature, more discoveries, more activities, more events and other good reasons to come this year!

The Rouen armada ⚓

June

The traditional Armada is a bit like the “Miss France” of boats, so it’s up to you to judge which one will be the most beautiful. The event takes place every 4 years in Rouen. Visitors come from far and wide to come and admire and visit these beautiful ships moored on the quays of the city of a hundred steeples. This year, it will be held from 8 to 18 June. And on the last day, the crews set sail up the seine before returning home to the 4 corners of the world. It’s an opportunity to take a break on the banks of the river to admire these impressive vessels cruising against the backdrop of Normandy.

On-site, meet our proud representative: the boat William the Conqueror. Discover the quays of Rouen and its fabulous rigging from a different angle with a dinner cruise on the Seine.

Situated 30km from Rouen, the accommodation providers in Seine-Eure will enable you to stay close to the event and the loop of the Seine where the sailors will parade, so you can enjoy this superb spectacle in peace and quiet.

On-board systems

late June - early July

Let’s have some fun with Les Embarqués en Escales! They’re the modern-day troubadours. They bring sunshine and smiles to our little villages in June. These peddlers of good humour offer free entertainment and shows combining theatre, circus, music and dance. All you need is a friendly spirit to come and enjoy them!

To round off their tour in style, we’re off to the Les Embarqués festival at the Léry-Poses leisure park. It’s a bit like our very own Woodstock. It’s the place to celebrate summer by the lake, with even more entertainment, even more shows and a magnificent sound and light finale with reflections in the water in the evening, so we can all dream together!

The Léry-Poses lakes

all year round

Actually the leisure park at Léry-Poses, let’s talk about it! Because the beach is nice, but salt water, pebbles and sand in your shoes are fine for 5 minutes. Swimming in a lake is much more pleasant.

And at the beach they have pedalos? Canoes and kayaks? An aqua jump?

Besides, Léry-Poses is one of those places in Normandy that’s great for camping. Between the Seine and the lake, in a little corner of nature, in the shade under a tree, on the banks of the Seine…

Looking forward to the summer!

Hiking

all year round

What better than a hike in Normandy to take a breather from the daily grind. Without going very far, the hikes in Seine-Eure will take your mind on a journey.

If walking breaks your feet, mountain biking or canoeing on the Eure is just what you need.

In the forest, beside a river, the Seine or a lake, whether you’re a sportsman or a walker, you’re bound to find a fun itinerary that appeals.

Gaillon Castle

April to November

Oyé Oyé damoiselles, damoiseaux. France’s first Renaissance château is reopening its drawbridge to welcome you back to its bosom this year.

Its history is full of twists and turns: it went from fortress to residence, then from prison to military barracks. Many prisoners’ graffiti can still be seen in the cells.

After a most interesting guided tour, a little gourmet dining in the charming Normandy town of Gaillon won’t go amiss!

L'Affluente

May

L’Affluente is a festive, social canoe trip down the River Eure for around ten kilometres. It’s the perfect way to take a deep breath of nature and see the Normandy countryside at its best. There will be a picnic at lunchtime to share a convivial moment before taking up the oars again. Will you be the oarsman or the ball and chain of your partner?

And you, what will you do with your time in Seine-Eure?
