10 activities to keep cool during your stay in Normandy

Bring a blanket, snacks and cold drinks to enjoy a pleasant moment in the heart of the Normandy countryside. In Normandy, Seine-Eure is full of picturesque lakes and rivers that promise perfect spots for a picnic in the heart of nature. Ask the tourist office for advice on finding your ideal spot!

Put on comfortable shoes, bring water and wear suitable clothing, then head for the Bord forest! Walk through green, shady landscapes, breathe in the fresh air and enjoy the tranquillity of the surrounding countryside.

Would you prefer a large swimming pool with water games or a large lake with water sports activities? Here, we’ve got both! Grab your best towel and head to Caséo for pool fans and Léry-Poses lake for nature lovers.

Take the opportunity to visit a local farm or orchard in Seine-Eure, where you can pick fresh fruit and learn more about life in the countryside. Some farms also offer tastings of local produce such as Norman cheese, cider and honey!

Hire or bring your own bike and cycle along the Seine: a long cycle path running alongside the Seine, or the voie verte along the banks of the Eure. It’s the perfect way to enjoy the Normandy countryside in complete peace and quiet, with the refreshing sound of water nearby. For the more experienced, there are still the picturesque country lanes and those of the riverside forest, in the cool shade!

The Eure offers a truly ideal setting for a canoe trip. You’ll find fast-flowing waters to thrill you, but also the charm and tranquillity of nature. Swans will accompany you on your trip, giving it a romantic feel. It’s an activity that’s sure to please everyone, whether you’re with friends, family or as a couple!

Swimming pool. Sometimes you don’t have to look too far. In Louviers, you can visit this unique aquatic complex with large and small pools, water games, slides and a wellness area. The latter includes a frigidarium (ice room) to keep the temperature down!

Still in Louviers in Normandy, come and cool off on the ice floe! In Glacéo’s large ice rink, you can skate, of course, but that’s not all: try your hand at Bubble Football on ice, for example, the perfect way to break the ice (we had to do it…)!
