Visiting a site is great. But immersing yourself in the heart of the history of the places in a playful and educational way is even better! For all lovers of innovative tourist experiences on their own or with the family, Seine-Eure tourisme is offering two “augmented” walks to tell the story of Seine-Eure along the water, thanks to free applications using virtual reality or sound immersion.

After the 3D adventure Pont-de-l’Arche Médiévale available since 2020 on the “Seine-Eure s’imagine” and “Legendr” apps, visitors can now enjoy a new route: L’Incroyable Parade de Poses. A poetic and immersive sound stroll to experience the history of Poses, an ancient canal town.

Your mission: follow Jules Désiré, a sailor in the 19th century, commander of the “Fauvette”. This historic boat guides the fantastic parade that regularly takes place in Poses to guard against flooding. It releases the stories and anecdotes trapped beneath the water’s surface. An unexplained and incredible phenomenon! isn’t it?

Stunning guides

Guided by the voices of two mischievous children who have the ability to communicate with the benevolent spirits of the Seine, you’ll have to play a key role in preventing the river from overflowing…. To do this, you’ll have to follow the spirit of Jules Désiré and his ghost ship along the towpath and convince the village’s historical figures, reincarnated as whimsical spirits, to join the party organised on arrival! A mission that will take you along a poetic and amusing account of the history of the place.

Poses, an ancient boating town

Everything here speaks of the life of the bargemen. Poses comes from the Latin “Pausa”, which translates as pause or rest. It refers to the rest taken by bargemen after crossing the pertuis, the strait with a strong current between the island and the land. In the 19th century, Poses had a population of 1,600, including 500 men who worked as river carters and hauliers. Other Poses residents also worked in river-related trades: boat builders, fishermen, tailors, etc.

Your mission: follow Gervald, master of the bridge for centuries, in search of the treasures of his good city of Pont-de-l’Arche. In the Middle Ages, he used his hat to guide the boats as they passed under the arch of the bridge. By the water, time stands still… Get ready for a journey out of time! An adventure full of challenges where you’ll experience incredible encounters, including the impressive arrival of the longships on the Seine in virtual reality.

Wood-framed houses, cobbled streets and ramparts… Built by King Charles the Bald in 862, Pont-de-l’Arche today is a treasure trove for history buffs.

Proud of its past and keen to share it with as many people as possible, the former medieval city is offering visitors an innovative concept for touring the town through a discovery trail that highlights the city’s heritage and buried remains thanks to a free app to download.

Recreation in virtual reality, 360° captures, everything has been thought of to ensure that young and old alike spend an unforgettable moment in the company of the ghost of the Bridge Master…

A fun and educational concept

The app is driven by a narrative story, whose voice will guide the walker throughout the course.

Alongside the educational approach of the concept, the course offers walkers games and challenges at each stage of his visit. Each correct answer will unlock a new piece of a puzzle for them to piece together!
