A protected nature trail

South of Rouen, the Seine-Eure region appeals to lovers of bucolic walks and the most hardened sportsmen and women with its kilometres of greenways and hiking trails. For a weekend or during the holidays, there’s nothing like a day’s roaming to get out in the green, enjoy the pleasure of a good family walk and discover the Eure Valley along its banks.

On this 30km trail reserved exclusively for cyclists, pedestrians and people with reduced mobility, enjoy the diversity of the countryside on foot, by bike, on rollerblades, on a skateboard or even on a scooter. The voie verte – aptly named – offers a safe walking route suitable for all ages.

Running alongside the River Eure, the greenway links the village of Pinterville to the medieval town of Pont de l’Arche via Louviers, Incarville, le Vaudreuil, Val-de-Reuil, the village of Léry and the Léry-Poses leisure centre.

to the Seine Valley cycle route

The part of the route that passes through Le Vaudreuil is, however, on a so-called “shared” lane with motorists and requires a little vigilance. From Le Vaudreuil, a second greenway route leads to Saint-Pierre-du-Vauvray via Saint-Etienne-du-Vauvray. Cyclists can then join the Seine Valley cycle route, which follows the banks of the river and links the Grande Noé, Mesnil and Deux Amants lakes. Along this still-used river route, you’ll come across cruise ships, barges and container ships heading for the ports of Rouen and Le Havre.

This picturesque cycle route is an integral part of the soon-to-be-completed “Seine à Vélo” project. The new cycle route between Paris and Le Havre stretches for almost 400km along the Seine. The Seine valley has some wonderful surprises in store for cyclists and cycling enthusiasts alike. Criss-crossing undulating landscapes, discovering deep-rooted river traditions, marvelling at the grandiose panoramas of the cliffs and limestone hillsides – you’re in for a real treat. The bright lights and bucolic scenery inspired Impressionist painters and visitors from all over the world.

Hop on! Don’t wait any longer to get on your bikes and discover all the riches of the Seine-Eure destination along the cycle paths.

As a couple, with friends or family,
it’s a life-size change of scenery that awaits you!
