The All Saints’ holiday is Halloween time, but it’s not the only time! It’s a chance to get scared (a bit), but also to get out and do all sorts of activities for young and old in Normandy: check out the programme in Seine-Eure, in the Louviers region!

Halloween scares the pants off us

Gailloween

at the Château de Gaillon

Terror and Shivers at the Château de Gaillon: during the All Saints’ Day holidays, enter the world of “Gailloween”! As it does every year, the Château de Gaillon will be welcoming young and old alike throughout the school holidays to experience the horrific world of Halloween, in a “terrifying” setting and with a host of events including games, workshops, storytelling, investigations, riddles and, of course, sweets!

The Halloween maze

Prepare to shiver with delight in the Halloween Labyrinth, an escape game specially designed by the city of Louviers for children aged 6 to 12! As soon as they arrive, groups will be welcomed into a play area decorated in Halloween colours, and will listen to the legend of the giant pumpkin before solving the final puzzle of the maze.

On reservation. From 28 to 30 October, 5pm to 7pm, in groups of 10, free of charge.

Thrills and chills at the Louviers multimedia library

The Boris Vian multimedia library is going into Halloween mode during the All Saints’ Day holidays, giving a “horrific” flavour to its events for young and old alike. Games, workshops and activities will bring monsters, ghosts and vampires to life, much to the delight of children.

The horror parade!

Get together on October 31 at 3.30pm in the courtyard of Louviers Town Hall to join the horror parade organised by the leisure centres. Horrific costumes highly recommended! Then follow the music to the Anatole France gymnasium, where a snack and a special Halloween show await you!

Free admission. Children aged 3 to 12.

Halloween at Toukyland

You can scare yourself while having fun! In fact, that’s the watchword at the Toukyland children’s play area, which is offering a big Halloween party on Friday 1 November from 6.30pm to 10.30pm. So put on your scariest costumes and come and join in the fun and the little monsters’ boom from 9.45pm!

Reservations directly at the park.

A workshop to keep your sweets tidy

For those of you with a sweet tooth, head to the Jean-Luc Recher multimedia library in Aubevoye (Le Val-d’Hazey) on 22 October at 3pm for a workshop where you can carefully pack away the sweets you’ll be collecting on 31 October in boxes that are as terrifying as they are practical!

An evening of fright in Pont-de-l'Arche

On 31 October, get ready to shiver at the evening of fright organised in Pont-de-l’Arche in the old college from 5pm! On the programme: a thrilling escape-game, an immersive scary walk, and a fire show to set the night alight at 9pm. Bonus: an inflatable structure for the little ones. A free event not to be missed by young and old alike!

Halloween at the pool!

Beware… The Caséo aquatic centre in Louviers will be celebrating Halloween with a bewitching pool, aquatic creatures and treats galore! The pool will be decked out in Halloween colours from October 21 to November 3, with a dedicated highlight on October 29, 30 and 31.

Trouble at the rink

From October 21 to November 1, the Glacéo ice rink in Louviers has a 100% Halloween programme in store, with ghostly football on ice, fear hockey, or demon handball…. Get ready for the candy hunt on Thursday October 31 and a big “Holy Dead on Ice” evening from 8.30pm.

We're off on an adventure

A new "Terrain d'Aventure" in Louviers

Louviers is home to a brand new Terrain d’Aventures: a place giving children and young teenagers free access to leisure activities and reclaiming public space. Whether climbing, digging, creating, transforming or simply having fun, there’s something for everyone in this unique space, designed to awaken curiosity and strengthen the link with nature.

Open to all. Every day from 19 to 27 October, 10.30am to 5.30pm.

Gondola trips in Venice

The All Saints’ holiday will be your last chance to travel to the heart of Venice for an afternoon through the eyes of the greatest artists! The free exhibition “Venice, a question of point of view” at the Musée de Louviers until October 28, which brings together objects and paintings by masters of the Serenissima, has managed to be as entertaining as it is educational. Don’t miss it!

Tuesday to Saturday, 2pm to 6pm.

Ornithological adventure

Adventure also means observing nature and learning to recognise and preserve its inhabitants, especially those with feathers! Just the thing, in Seine-Eure, you’ll find the Grande Noë ornithological reserve. It’s the perfect place for a holiday, especially as the Groupe Ornithologique Normand (Normandy Ornithological Group) is organising visits during the holidays to look through binoculars and find out more about the birds that live there, in the company of an ornithologist.

Duck visits on 19 October and 2 November at 10 a.m.

Storytelling walk in the forest

The association “Les Petits Pas” is taking you on a walk on 19 October to discover the small feathered inhabitants of the forest. Why is the red-throated owl red in the throat? Do owls really frighten humans and animals? Interactive stories will be told during the walk. It’s a chance to spend some time with your imagination and learn a few anecdotes about nature. An original way for the whole family to discover our landscape.

Booking required.

In search of mushrooms!

The Conservatoire d’espaces naturels de Normandie is offering a walk to meet the intriguing living creatures with hats that grow in Saint-Didier-des-Bois on 19 October to get the holidays off to a good start: mushrooms! On the programme: introduction to picking, presentation and identification of the species present and discovery of the site’s heritage flora.

Ages 8 and up. Free admission. Booking required.

Leap to bounce back

For the little ones, it’s a crazy weekend on 19 and 20 October to get the holidays off to a great start at La Saussaye! The pure adventure of an “inflatable structures” weekend at the Eric Dransart gymnasium, to bounce, jump, run, have fun and laugh! That’s what holidays are for!

The Automnales

Les Automnales au château de Martot are back during the holidays! From 24 October to 1 November, you can enjoy an exhibition, outings led by specialists, as well as events and workshops to discover and observe the biodiversity that surrounds us. A rich programme to share with the whole family!

We're creative

with courses and workshops

Art for the very young

Why not take advantage of the holidays to introduce your little ones to art? Because there’s no age limit for introducing little ones to artistic creation, works of art and their exhibitions, the Musée de Louviers regularly offers free fun and colourful workshops for the very young.

Wednesday 23 October at 3pm – 3 to 6 years old.

Thursday 24 October at 3pm – 6 to 10 years old.

Making my chef's hat

As part of the “Tous en Cuisine” operation at the Jean-Luc Recher media library in Val-d’Hazey, come and make your own chef’s hat during the holidays. When you return to your kitchen, you’ll be able to shine as a Toque-chef!

Ages 8 and up: 29 October at 3pm.

Ages 4 to 8: 30 October at 10am.

Who are good pancakes for?

This workshop, held at the Hauts Prés organic centre in Val-de-Reuil, will teach young and old how to roll out the dough on real biligs, just like in Brittany! Pancakes and galettes will be filled with good organic and local ingredients like pumpkin or fresh goat’s cheese… And for dessert, wild fruit jam or honey from Hauts Prés.

On 24 October 2024 from 2.30pm to 4.30pm and from 6pm to 8pm.

Race Mario!

Here’s a rather “sporty” digital workshop, offered by the médiathèque Boris Vian in Louviers during the holidays! You’ll be able to step into the shoes of Luigi and Mario to pilot their racing car while avoiding breakage! Come and test your dexterity with the joysticks and take part in the Mario Kart Grand Prix.

October 25 at 2.30pm – From age 7

From tree to plate

On the occasion of “L’Automne à la ferme” and “Cuisinez la Normandie”, take part in a cooking workshop for young and old organised by Vergers du Mesnil-Jourdain. On the programme: making sweet treats using apples.

On Sunday 27 October from 2pm to 5pm.

Guitar hero

With the “Rocksmith” workshop at the Pont-de-l’Arche media library, EIMD guitar teacher Augustin Natier and Blaise from the media library are offering young and old alike the chance to learn guitar and practise with a video game!

On 25 October from 5pm to 6.30pm.

So, what are you going to do with your holiday in Seine-Eure?
