From 8 to 18 June, Armada 2023 will be bringing the quays of the Seine in Rouen to life. A spectacular, friendly and festive event for all! Come and spend a few days around Louviers in Seine-Eure, in a Normandy of Nature and Fun, just a stone’s throw from the event!

1. Where to stay for the Armada?

Seine-Eure is 30 minutes from Rouen and it’s not for nothing that this territory shaped by the meandering Seine is part of the Rouen – Seine-Eure Metropolitan Cluster. This proximity makes it the ideal place to come and enjoy the Armada 2023 with the advantage of a 100% Natural environment!!

To find accommodation during the Armada while savouring the serenity and gentle pace of life in the Normandy countryside, head for Louviers and the surrounding area. From Gaillon to Pont-de-l’Arche, via its 60 communes, the Seine-Eure region offers a rich and varied range of accommodation: hotels, gîtes, bed and breakfasts, campsites… It’s up to you to choose what suits you best for coming to see the Armada: group gîtes, roulottes, chalets, maisons de maîtres… With whirlpool bath or not, on the banks of the Seine or the lakes of Léry-Poses in Normandy… In a picturesque village or isolated from the rest of the world, choose the break you need to go visit the sailboats and enjoy the shows in Rouen in complete serenity.

2. How to get to the Armada?

from Seine-Eure is easy! And for the sake of the planet as well as your peace of mind we advise you to favour public transport. Or your calves…

By Bus:

Line 216: Verneuil-sur-Havre / Evreux / Rouen.

Ligne 215: Evreux / Louviers / Val-de-Reuil – Val-de-Reuil / Pont-de-l’Arche / Rouen

Dessert: Amfreville-sur-Iton – Heudreville-sur-Eure – Acquigny – Louviers – Val-de-Reuil – Léry – Léry-Poses en Normandie – Les Damps – Pont-de-l’Arche – Igoville – Criquebeuf-sur-Seine – Martot.

By train:

CITI line: Paris / Vernon-Giverny / Rouen

Stations served: Pont-de-l’Arche – Gaillon-Aubevoye – Val-de-Reuil

    For the more sporty, combine the pleasure of the eyes and the calves by following the Seine for a beautiful two-wheeled ride between Louviers and Rouen on la Seine à Vélo! It’s an opportunity to discover wonderful landscapes along the Seine before arriving peacefully at the Armada.

    A Nature experience to try, especially as bike parking will be available at the site entrances throughout the event: esplanade du Kindarena, Avenue Pasteur, Quais hauts Rive Sud, between the Guillaume le Conquérant and Jeanne d’Arc bridges.

    3. Taking a break during the Armada?

    Take a nature break

    And why not combine a visit to the event with a nature break and fill up on outdoor activities in Normandy?

    Hiking, swimming, paddle-boarding, water-ski cableways, canoeing, climbing, white-water swimming, vélorail… There’s plenty to give you the active break you want in Seine-Eure!

    Take a cultural break

    What if you also took advantage of Seine-Eure’s heritage for a little culture break during the Armada?

    The Château de Gaillon, the parc et jardins d’Acquigny, the towns and villages and their heritage and architectural treasures, the “Pont-de-l’Arche Médiévale” virtual reality tour and the Tourist Office’s rally kits for all the family, the Biotropica animal gardens, the moulin d’Andé park….

    The programme:

    From the Grande Pagaille on 7 June to the Grand Parade on 18 June, there’s plenty to look forward to! Regattas, sporting activities, parades and, in particular, the much-anticipated parade of crews. And, of course, a host of concerts and fireworks!
