<10:30 Guided tour behind the scenes of the Louviers Archives Centre

Dive into the heart of history by going behind the scenes of the Seine-Eure Archives Centre, which holds almost 3.5 km of archives dating from the 14th century to the present day. The archivists will guide you through the shelves and explain their job as well as the methods they use to collect, classify and preserve documents from the surrounding communes and private collections. From parchment to CD-Rom, entrusting your archives to the Centre means ensuring their continuity and transmission, and giving researchers and the public access to authentic documents.

The Carpentier Bareix family will guide you around their farm and share with you their passion for work well done and quality products. After a guided tour of the orchard, it’s time for a snack with a tasting of apple and pear juices, homemade jams and other products from the farm.

Discover Louviers, a former cloth-making town full of history. Reconstructed after the Second World War, there are still some lovely vestiges of its richly traditional past. With the river Eure running through it, Louviers is a delightfully bucolic place to visit.
