In the tropical greenhouse, Mississippi alligators, gigantic arapaimas, giant Livingstone bats, red Amazon piranhas, African long-nosed crocodiles and Lyle’s flying foxes devour their food before your very eyes.
In their natural outdoor environment, come and watch the Humboldt penguins, meerkats and curly pelicans feast!
At the heart of the aviary, twice a day, you can also take an active part in feeding the rainbow lorikeets, these small multicoloured parrots native to northern Australia. The keeper will hand you a small cup of the fruit nectar they are so fond of. The birds approach you to savour the nectar, giving you a chance to see them at close quarters. It’s a great opportunity to talk to the birds, and a real treat for the children!

Tropical greenhouseThe job of animal keeper has fascinated many of us since our earliest childhood! Make your or your child’s dream come true by going behind the scenes at Biotropica to spend a privileged and exclusive moment with the teams of animal caretakers.
Over the course of an afternoon, accompany Biotropica’s animal caretakers in their daily tasks to experience unforgettable moments up close and personal with the animals. From the age of 12, and with prior booking, take part in preparing and distributing meals, cleaning the living areas and observing the animals in the different sectors: mammals/birds, free-ranging animals on the outdoor trail and reptiles/amphibians/fish.
