What is a GR® de Pays?

A GR® de Pays is a itineraire de Grande Randonnée (long-distance hiking route) that allows you to discover an area on foot. It is waymarked yellow/red and white/red when it is shared with a GR® (there is no overtagging). The GR® de Pays des coteaux de l’Eure can be completed in 4 days. The route can be walked in three loops of around thirty kilometres, passing from one bank of the Eure to the other for the duration of a short stay. The GR® are creations of the FFRandonnée. They are waymarked and maintained by its volunteers.

Ideal for discovering the natural landscapes of Normandy!

Our itineraries

These two itinerant walks will help you discover the river Eure, which gives its name to our department, and the charming little villages that run alongside it.

  • The GR® de Pays des côteaux de l’Eure from Louviers or Pacy-sur-Eure allows you to put together short breaks as you wish, passing from one bank to the other.
  • The GR® de Pays de la vallée d’Eure will take you from the confluence of the Eure with the Seine at Pont-de-l’Arche to Anet, the junction in Eure et Loir of the route to the source of the river not far from La Loupe.

For more information, find the booklet on sale for €6 at the Tourist Office reception desk!

In it you’ll find all the information you need:

Drink and eat!

Hiking in Normandy is great for discovering its landscapes. But all that wouldn’t have any flavour if you didn’t taste its local produce!

The speciality of the area is duck. Rillette, foie gras, pâté… You’ll find it in all its forms at the farm in Seine-Eure. Not forgetting Norman cider or the famous bière des deux amants, to be consumed in moderation of course!

Without forgetting the restaurants on offer in Seine-Eure to train your taste buds too!
