The European Heritage Days are always a rare opportunity to set eyes on sites that are often inaccessible or little-known, places of art, culture and history that shape the identity of the territories. Sometimes private, sometimes hidden, sometimes off the beaten track, these exceptional days are an opportunity to discover a whole part of the history of our little corner of Normandy in Seine-Eure!

A free, festive, country art weekend!

On the occasion of Heritage and Matrimonial Days, come and visit the Moulin d’Andé and Integral Fruit parks and discover – in situ – contemporary plastic works, choreographic, literary, musical or cinematographic performances….

Tous au Baillage !

Pont-de-l’Arche

A major witness to the city’s medieval history, the former bailliage of Pont-de-l’Arche, housing court and prisons, was created around 1635. Almost all of the buildings have survived, as have a large part of the interior prison fittings. In the 19th century, the building became the town hall, then the home of sculptor Jean Kerbrat between 1969 and 1976, whose bas-relief sculptures adorn the facing of the main door.

Visits every hour. Length of visit 45 mins.

Exhibition Design et Métiers d’Art

Le Carré Saint-Cyr in Le Vaudreuil will be offering visitors the chance to discover its new exhibition: “design & métiers d’art, un atelier grandeur nature” all weekend long. Guided tours on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 at 4pm.

  • 2pm: start of a performance entitled “Journey to the centre of the archives”. We’ll be opening a trunk containing private archives that we’ll be filing live during the JEP and throughout the week that follows
  • 2pm-5pm: Exhibition “Invitation aux voyages”: free tour of an exhibition inviting visitors to an unusual discovery of the area, through iconographic documents, tourism and transport archives
  • 2.30pm: Embarquement pour les archives: tour commentée du Pôle archives, en emmenant nos visiteurs dans une ambiance de voyage

  • 2pm: Boarding the archives: a guided tour of the Archives Centre, taking visitors on a journey
  • 3:30pm: 2nd guided tour

  • Free tour of the gardens and discovery of the fifteenth- and sixteenth-century buildings.

  • Exhibition of ceramics of arts and crafts by Amélie Réveilhac, painter and ceramist. At this exhibition you can discover her world of decorative objects in porcelain or stoneware, inspired by nature and particularly the sea.

    Visit Sainte-Cécile church

    Free tour of the church. Following recent restoration work, the church will dazzle you with its gilding and Baroque decor. Members of the Friends of the Church of Sainte Cécile d’Acquigny association will be delighted to comment on the remarkable features. The visit will be adapted to the time available.

    Visit the gardens of the Manoir

    Discover this planted park renowned for its remarkable trees, a veritable showcase for the 16th-century Manoir de Senneville, made of pink brick and Vernon stone and listed as a Historic Monument in 1975.

    L’ancien Four à Pain

    La Vacherie

    Since becoming part of the town’s heritage, this site has seen its hearth brought back into service on a number of occasions and local residents have been able to taste the bread baked in its hearth.

    Visit free. Welcome by a local authority official.

    Church of Saint-Germain

    The church features a 16th-century altarpiece whose polychromy was revealed in 2022 following extensive restoration work. The stained glass windows, paintings and some of the statues have also been restored to their former glory.

    A staff member will meet you in front of the church entrance, followed by a free tour.

    La chapelle de Bethléem

    Come and meet the team from the Etoile de Bethléem association who are working to safeguard and restore this chapel with its unique crypt listed as a historic monument.

    Guided tour of the “Maison Flottante”, an artists’ residence and place for meetings and connections belonging to the CNEAI: Centre national d’art contemporain moored in Poses since 2021. The Maison Flottante is a habitable flat-bottomed boat, the emblematic work of architects Denis Daversin and Jean-Marie Finot and designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec.
