A stadium dedicated to athletics.
Inaugurated in December 2009, the indoor Jesse Owens stadium in Val-de-Reuil is a mecca for sports in the Seine-Eure region. Open to all licensed practitioners of athletics disciplines, the Jesse Owens stadium offers regional, national and international level athletes optimal training conditions.
With an insulated 200-metre synthetic athletics track in 6 lanes with banked bends, a 60-metre long speedway and high hurdles track with 6 lanes, high jump, pole vault and shot put areas, the stadium hosts departmental and regional championships or national meetings all year round.
In homage to the legendary American athlete Jesse Owens, considered to be the first black sportsman of international renown, this modern stadium is intended to be a real place of life, exchange and sharing in Val-de-Reuil.
Between a major indoor athletics meeting, the UNSS Championships and the French Athletics Federation’s Cadets and Juniors Championships, don’t miss the opportunity to attend one of these great sporting events during your stay in our region. This top-of-the-range regional stadium has a capacity of around 1,500 people or 1,000 seated in the stands.
As well as athletics and other sporting events, the Jesse Owens stadium regularly hosts a wide range of events, including the Forum des Métiers (every year), the Festivart organised by the Chambre des Métiers et de l’Artisanat, Quai Zéro (a model railway exhibition) and the Eure international meeting.
